About the artist
In 2001, Robert moved to Ocala, Florida. With renewed energy after a 13 year break, he was ready to return to painting. His style reflects a maturity that comes from artistic exploration and a life well-lived. A master at shadows and sunlight with flickers of color, Stebleton draws the viewer into his world. “I have lived and worked in many places, but my paintings are more than a travelogue, they are snapshots of my life.” His pallet that was once filled with subtle earth tones now also has vibrant color. Experience has shown him that hard work and not being influenced by current trends has given him his artistic voice.

The first Friday of every month come on out and see what's new at Holborn Gallery!

I have always had a fascination with wooden boats and they have provided me with inspiration for many paintings. The lobster fleet of New England with wooden boats have graceful sheer lines that the newer metal fishing boats lack. When I saw Sundowner in Tarpon Springs, Florida, age hadn’t diminished its classic lines. Although it was in disrepair and it would never be used as a working boat again, it retained a certain dignity..
