"I think I have always been an artist. My aunt was a very good artist, and when I was young, I would beg her to show me how to draw. In school, art was where I could shine. I suffered from A.D.D. , and school was not for me. I was always drawing and painting or carving wood; it was a passion.
"When I went through a divorce, a friend recommended a man named Norman Roth, who was giving painting lessons. We hit it off right away. I studied with him for seven years and learned a lot under his tutelage.
When I moved to Florida, I met Paul Johnson who persuaded me to form my own style of painting instead of the same style as Norm. With the help of a book on impressionism I found my own way and wasn't afraid to try what I was feeling inside wanting to get out. What you see now are the end results."
